Movie night

Chileans are really funny, you see Latino's in general walk really slow, and so it surprises me every time I try to talk to someone and they start talking about how busy and rushed they are, they try saying they don't have time and then they'll just meander down the road, take a quick breather at the curb before they get to the store to by a bag of bread....WHAT that's what you call busy!!!! Good Gosh!!!!

This week we (the missionaries) were in charge of an activity, meaning we spent this whole week preparing for the activity making cookies, getting the materials that we would need and this Saturday we had a ward movie night!! About 50 people showed up the vast majority less active members with some investigators and active members as well, but we ended up waiting out in the hallway because the movie playing was Turbo (the new Disney snail movie) and that's not mission appropriate.

I am not going to lie this week was an interesting one and besides the activity was spent mostly trying to help my companion Elder Cardona. He has had a rough life and has gone through a lot of things that have had a negative affect on him and because of this he has a few problems, but the Lord put us together and we are working together to help him recognize the potential that he has as a person. He is a great missionary and a really good person just lacks a support system in his life and with two months left to go until he returns to Mexico he is very nervous. This has just reminded me that we can't put our trust in anyone here on the earth. Yes, obviously we should trust our parents, our friends, our priesthood leaders, but they are all imperfect. When it comes down to it we have to learn to put our trust in the Lord because he is perfect and he is always there to lift us up and to help us and to comfort us.

This week my companion and I realized something funny, he is one of those people who shows his love through touching you. Sometimes it is just awkward, but he will always say I LOOOVEEE YOU (the only thing he knows how to say in english) and then wrap his arms around you and won't let go for like five minutes...

I love you guys keep on keeping on!!!
