Being Bold

This was one heck of a week!!!

Lets start from the beginning:

Monday: We met with a less active member of the church, Maria. We have taught her all the lessons and she wants to come back to church, she just hasn't found the initiative to do it yet. So we got a little bold. And taught family history work. Turns out her dad died when she was fourteen and he was the only person in her entire life that she feels actually loved her. We explained the purpose of family history work and about the temple and baptisms for the dead. We went on to tell her very straightforwardly that her father cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven if he doesn't receive a baptism by the proper authority. But that in this moment she had the power and the ability to help her father enter into a state of peace and joy where one day they could be together forever, and that she has to act or he will never be able to enter into the kingdom of heaven. It was awesome and now she is going to come to do her family history work.

Tuesday:  we met with the Riquelme family (the mom is getting baptized this Saturday!!!!!!!!) And talked about Thomas S Monson the living prophet of God in the latter days. Good golly gosh it was a powerful lesson and they understand the need for a living prophet and everything. Also when we asked Carla (the daughter) if she thought if he could be a prophet of God she just looked at us for a second and said, 'well yea he was called of God'. Ummmm yes, yes he was.

Wednesday:  we had an awesome service project. Usually the service projects here are pretty wimpy, but I was cutting wood and it was a workout! I got blisters and had to fix the axe a few times, but in the end the wood was split and I was in dire need of a shower....or two.

Thursday: at soccer tonight (every Thursday night we play) it was more like football for me, I brought the game to the Chileans. Especially because we play everything goes I might have taken advantage of that rule a little bit, but it was a blast and I got to score a few goals. But by the end of the night there were more than a few people who would avoid me when I had the ball.
Saturday:  we had another lesson with the Riquelme family and asked her the baptismal questions to help her prepare for her interview, I cannot explain the power that I felt when I heard her answer the questions. Do you believe that God is our eternal Father? Yes. I felt a shiver down my spine and that was just the first question with a one word answer. Boy do I love being a missionary.  Also in the evening we had a Family Home evening with a family of investigators and and an active family it was a very spiritual lesson about eternal families followed by a game of trivia, isn't that just classic. But we played in teams and just for the record my team dominated the game crushing everyone else, that's how we do it, go big or go home.

I love all of you and will have some pictures of a baptism or two this Saturday!!!
