Feelin the Love

To start things off may I just say, I LOVE being a missionary.

This week I have seen miracles take place before my very eyes. One of which concerns one of our investigators, Margarita. She suffers from heavy depression and from a really difficult life. When she was nine she saw her mother assassinated by her father and her future mother in law. That was just one of the many many difficulties that she has had in her life. But for all of these things it is understandable that at some point she lost hope, lost the vision of what is important and sealed herself off from the world that wasn't helping her at all. Well, this past week a change took place within her and for the first time in the short time I have known her she smiled, she laughed, she was happy. Some may ask what caused this change to take place. Well, the answer is actually quite simple, God's power. Two things in particular have made this difference take place. One was reading the book of Mormon, one of her problems is that she feels lonely. This past week she has been a machine at reading the Book of Mormon and she says that when she reads it she doesn't feel lonely, but feels a peace, a light burning within her. The Book of Mormon is true. The second thing that made this difference is that with one of the newly ordained elders from the ward of San Carlos we gave her a priesthood blessing and the difference within her was instantaneous. The priesthood is real, it is the power of the only true and living God given to me upon the earth to act in his name and to bless his children. Brethren use it.

Tuesday we had probably the most entertaining Family Home Evening that I have ever attended (and I have attended quite a few interesting Family Home Evenings) But we were at the house of a very active sister, in attendance, her active daughter-in-law, her less active son, and her completely, wants nothing to do with the missionaries inactive husband. This was good. We did the water pepper soap example of how the atonement cleans our sins and then we had an activity of how the spirit guides us and suffice it to say that the devil has many voices, all of them loud and enticing, but the spirit uses a still small voice. A few days later the Inactive father was calling on his trusted missionaries to give him a blessing for his back. This is good,

Another thing that was also good this week, but a little more challenging was the service project we had on Wednesday, chopping wood, I am using the term "wood" lightly here as I am almost 100 percent sure that we were cutting knotty roots from a rubber tree. Good times, good times.

Just a quick update of the soccer skills, we officially started a weekly soccer night here in San Carlos and the player with the most goals is yours truly, the one and only (current) Elder Hutchins. Uncle Aaron better keep practicing or when I get back he might be knocked down to number two on the soccer skill level in the Hutchins family.

Lastly can I just say that contacts are my favorite? I literally love contacting people, Our mission president recently shared with us the reason and purpose of our contacts, so that people feel the love of God. Here in San Carlos my companion and I are doing our part so that people can 'feel the love' and when I share my testimony of Gods love for others, I feel more of Gods love for me, isn't it interesting this never ending cycle of love, I just love it.

Speaking of love, LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!
