The changing winds

Well my friends the time has come, after six months of hard work here in San Carlos the call has come. I will now be going to the farthest corner of our mission, Linares. It is a small farm town at the northern end of our mission.

But this last week in San Carlos, was an incredible one. First off we were able to get a bunch of service projects done or planned. One such service opportunity was one often joked about, but rarely attempted by anyone. A new member asked us to come to her house Wednesday morning to cut her grass. So Wednesday morning we showed up bright and early with a newly ordained elder (preparing for his mission) and I could hardly believe it when to cut her grass she handed us...............nothing more than two pairs of scissors.........wow. But not discouraged we went to work and after about twenty minutes a slightly larger pair of scissors was also added to our list of 'tools'. It was hard work, but in the end the grass was defeated.

Other than service my companion and I were able to finally contact 'Popcorn guy' his name is actually Mario, but popcorn guy is more fitting as he, for the past 10 years, walks around a tiny push cart selling bags of caramel popcorn. He walks around from about 12 in the afternoon to 10 at night and blasts music all day. But he is happy. He is an interesting guy.

I LOVED general conference it was a spiritual feast, and boy was I filled. I think the message that hit me the hardest was that not just of serving, but of giving everything. I know that the Lord loves each of His children and He wants us to help them and to serve them.

I Love all of you!!!!!!!!!!!
