Death and new life.

May 26, 2014

Well first things first, we had transfers this week!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and I am.....................Staying. Who would have guessed. Also once again I will training. Start taking bets, Latino or Gringo?!?!?!?!? What will he be? I am super pumped to be training again it is my favorite assignment. A new life is being born here in San Carlos.

One of the biggest adventures took place late Thursday night, by late I mean about 9:00. But we were just finishing the mission council with our ward mission leader and the bishop when the Elder Quorum President entered the room and asked for two of the four missionaries to come and help him out with "something". As my companion and I had finished first we stood up to go and help him. Well, as we left he explained to us that there was a man outside who was a little drunk and asking for help, The President told us that he wanted us to help take the man to the hospital about two minutes away. Yea, no problem. But as it so happened as we exited the building the man had fallen to the ground and was convulsing there. Quickly my companion, and I accompanied by the Elders Quorum President and a newly ordained future missionary administered the man a priesthood blessing. As things progressed the man stopped breathing, his pulse stopped, he died. But thanks to my parents (having taught me in my youth the things that I should do aka scouts aka CPR training about three years ago) and the spirit, I knew what to do and successfully administered CPR to the man, even though his heart stopped beating, we didn't give up and time after time we administered to him and God restored life to his body. He was restored to consciousness and then the ambulance came and took him away. But what a blessing to administer to one of Gods children in such a way. I am so blessed.

We had a lot of success this week with the less active members of the church in our area. We had a total of 7 less active members in the church this Sunday and lifted the weekly attendance of about 50-60 to a wopping 74 people, Open the overflow people! God is at work in San Carlos!!!!

I would just like to tell the story of two of the less actives that assisted the church this Sunday. A mother and a son. Three years ago the son was heavily involved in drugs and other undesirable sins, that is when the Sister missionaries found him and began to teach him. A little while later he was baptized, when his parents saw that change in his life they too united with the church. Sometime last year he (now an active elder in the church, and his mother a counselor in Relief Society) and his mother stopped going to church. When we found them this week we retaught and testified about the truth of the restoration and the love of God for each of his children. By the end, the son, a twenty seven year old man, was in tears and he turned to his mother and asked her, mom why am I crying I don't get it. His mother responded Felipe its the spirit. What Felpie said next made me think and reflect on how blessed I truly am, he said, Wow it has been so long since Ive felt the spirit, so long, I forgot how lovely it is, I like it.

How lovely it is indeed, how blessed we truly are.
I love each of you and God does as well always remember that.
