Nov 10, 2014

This week all cycled around on singular thing: the Book Of Mormon. As spoken by Elder David A. Bednar, the Book of Mormon is what changes hearts. (obviously when combined with the spirit). So this week our zone started the focus to "Flood the earth with the book of Mormon" as stated by the prophet Ezra Taft Benson in general conference years ago. This week we adopted that vision and made it our slogan.

My companion and I did not leave the house without a copy of the book of Mormon in our hands. Neither did we leave a visit without either giving a copy to the person of leaving the specific invitation to read a part of it. And boy did we see a change in the work.

First was with a less active and her family, a year ago (when they were active) their family was reading daily from the book of Mormon. It is no surprise to me that about a month after they stopped reading together from the Book of Mormon, that they also began to stay at home rather than go to church. Well this week we challenged them to read a chapter a day as a family and what do you know, at church about half the family came, progression, still more to do, but we are getting their.

Second Miguel and Paola, they are something like eternal investigators, until now, they recently were married and their oldest son is a member, but they had stopped coming to church mainly out of laziness, well who would have guessed, but when we verified with them they were not reading the Book of Mormon...like at all. So we left a specific assignment with them that involved reading a chapter a day as a family. They too were at church on Sunday and their baptism is scheduled for Saturday at 4.

Just so each of you are aware my companion Elder Mcintye just lost his grandmother, she passed away from cancer on Saturday morning, so if you could keep him and his family in your prayers it would be much appreciated.

I love you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elder Hutchins
